SOCRATES was charged with ridiculing poets and other teachers, Why? What reason was there for this charge?
I am reading a book on Socrates but can not seem to figure this one out. What possible evidence is there of him ridiculing poets, playwrights, and other teachers?
Answer: In Socrates defense argument, (Apology), he stated that if he is convicted, it would be because of Aristophanes, corrupting the minds of his audience when they were young. This references the play, "the clouds" that was a slapstick mockery of Socrates, some 24 years earlier.
Many of the charges brought forward by his accusers were motivated by revenge. Socrates found that politicians, teachers and even laymen were not who they claimed entirely, and this dishonesty exposed, embarrassed them. they needed to discredit and silence his honesty.

Is there evidence SOCRATES was a humble person?
Socrates did not publish or write about Socrates. Plato did, and entertainingly so. I am saying that Socrates sought truth instead of a winner or loser in a debate/argument. Did Plato ever make note of the humility of his teacher, Socrates?
Is the Senates betrayal, and the disappointment of Socrates, available in a theatrical drama that we can all "chew" on as food for thought?
Answer: for one youv'e picked an amazing question. I have often wondered this myself. And i dont think Plato wrote anything very kind about sacrates. Plato didnt want sacrates to have success and his writing was a way of preventing him from being know for good reasons. I dont think there is evidence of his humbleness(is that a word) but i believe that he was.

What did SOCRATES do that is important in the development of modern science?
I have to do this for Socrates please help!
An advertisement highlighting your philosopher and informing people why your philosopher was important in the development of modern science?
Answer: you 'have to do this'? no one has to do anything that isn't wanted (to be done). choice, my friend, is a truly human and life altering event once understood. we all have choices but first knowing yourself on a unique basis is step one. ergo, and so it goes, Socrates affects us still some thousands of years after his death. he was entirely instrumental in tutoring plato who went on to 'school' aristocrates, etc.. like 'whadda' guy. one man who in turn made possible two others who did overtly change the world then and continues today. Socrates never wrote a thing down or at least what we know but his student plato did and because of his famous student, we know about the man. socratic method of teaching, which i use daily, is considered the best way to learn. there's didactic and socratic. i prefer the socratic method as it is more affirmative and best for an indelible in meaning.
so you ask why Socrates is important? ask yourself one question: are you important and if the answer is yes, as it should be, then you've answered your own question. if you know yourself then you are on the way of knowing the world. as for the rest? i rest my case.

The real question is, Did Socrates think that it was acceptable for everyone to die or just philosophers and why? I just want to know where I can find the answer.

Everyone dies!
What Socrates was saying about death is that he did not fear it. For him it was a way of separating further his soul from the entrapings of the flesh and the illusions brought about by the human sensory experience.

How does SOCRATES address Menos paradox with his theory of recollection?
In the Platonic dialogue, Meno, how is Menos paradox addressed by Socrates theory of recollection? For example, how does the theory of recollection address the question, "Why inquire about something if you already know it?" Also, how does the theory address the other side of the paradox: If you do not know something, how will you inquire about it?
Thanks!
Answer: Epistemic Paradoxes:

Socrates doesnt explicitly explain the need for rulers in the Republic. Without him directly explaining why, what could be thought of for reasons Socrates would say rulers were necessary.

Why does SOCRATES think ‘Philosophy’ is worth dying for? What exactly is he dying for?
I have to write an essay for my philosophy class and this is the question,
Why does Socrates think ‘Philosophy’ is worth dying for? What exactly is he dying for?
We have been reading "Platos Apology of Socrates" Translated by James Redfield.
Hope someone can help me atleast brainstorm ideas to plan my essay.
Answer: Look for the answer in the Socratic doctrine that "it is better to suffer than to do injustice". He tells Crito that he will escape as his friend urges him to do if Crito can show him that he can do so without committing an injustice. Socrates argues that it can never be right to return injustice for injustice. Since he has lived his life in Athens and under her laws, he has tacitly agreed to a contract with her. If he were to escape he would be, in as much as it was in his power, harming his city. This he says would be unjust. Thus he argues that even though he has been unjustly condemned to die, it would be unjust for him to escape. It would be returning an injustice for an injustice. Write the paper with this focus and then ask, Could it possibly be the duty of an innocent man to go to his death when he might escape the unjust sentence?

SOCRATES !!!!!!!!!!?
what does Socrates mean in the apology when he says that it it wicked and shameful to do wrong? how does this connect with his claim that justice is good - in-itself, and how does the Ring of Gyges parable challenge that claim?
Answer: It is wicked maybe because it is a thinking error to be wrong. For instance, when you make a common error in a mathematical equation, it could be a shameful event if you were a very suave mathematician.
Justice is good in itself is because it is not a thinking error when justice is served, it is entirely correct.
The Ring of Gyges parable states that at the most, justice is a moral construct and when he is set free from his bonds, he becomes a truant.
However, when viewing from the angle that Socrates makes clear, from the angle of a thinking error, and from the angle of justice being served because of suave thinking, it is clearly shameful because it ends up as an mistake in the calculation, and no man, who is worth his salt would want to commit such gross thinking errors, for it would mean that he was morally bankrupt as well as mathematically, from the point of view of ethical equative thought.
Ethics are more or less mathematical processes that evolved in man, in which he makes likely choices based on a delibrative processes which resemble mathematical equations to a certain extent. When making ethical decisions, man thinks about fairness and justice and correctness, and an ethical decision means that the man is indeed a good mathematician, or of good background and gene.

Ex-Brazil captain SOCRATES dies at 57
On and off the field, former Brazil star Socrates stood out above the rest.
How does the philosopher SOCRATES describe his work and mission in the "Apology"?
What sorts of philosophical and moral ideas does he represent and discuss in the excerpt? What dowe know from this excerpt about Socrates personality?
Answer: Socrates asks the Oracle at Delphi who is the wisest man and the oracle says "you, Socrates are the wisest". He takes up a quest to prove the oracle wrong by going to all the wisest people around. All the sophists (as he calls them), the politicians, the poets, artisans and they all upon cross examination (the socratic method) reveal that they only hold the pretense of knowledge and not knowledge itself about the things they put forward as wisdom. He takes to the streets and gathers crowds around him as he continues to question the wisdom people say they possess. He pisses off a whole lot of people this way and they try to have him killed for corrupting the youth (who began using the socratic method on their elders). This is just blatant projection on the part of Socrates's accusers who have been corrupting the youth with the pretense of knowledge when in reality they were full of shit.
Socrates explains that the unexamined life is not worth living and that he will not stop cross examining people when they claim to have wisdom. Then he is sentenced to death by hemlock. Possibly the greatest philosopher of all time killed for exposing people for the frauds they really were.
Socrates claims to have a gadfly or daemon who keeps him from doing things that are inconsistent with his values. I would say that he had a lot of humility, a strong conscience, incredible dedication, a strong sense of self responsibility and courage.
