If the universe is shaped like a MOEBIUS strip (thanks Lorenzo Steed) does that explain?

why the expansion of the universe is accelerating, because the Moebius strip is flattening out? If the expansion is speeding up is the universe disintegrating and therefore all will return to nothingness from whence we came?
Answer: I honestly don't know who Lorenzo Steed is, (please fill me in). But I am very aware of the Moebius strip, and have incorporated it in many of my physical theories I think that it has alot to do with the cycle of electromagnetic energy and how it enfolds into gravity, which then enfolds back again into EME......and on and on .....in an endless Moebius cycle. What I don't understand in your question is the idea of the strip flattening out. (Forgive my ignorance). The strip is flat to begin with. It's flat on one side and flat on the opposite side. Then it morphs from one side to the other as it progresses in space-time....without 'jumping' sides. That is the contiguous cycle of the 2 dimensional realm into the 3D, then onto the 4d, etc. This, I believe, happens at the atomic level, which, in itself is an accelerating/expanding phenomenon of electromagnetic energy that entraps gravity, so to speak, into an opposite force from itself, all at once; On one side of the 2 dimensional strip, one force, and on the other side, the opposite force. Where is the flattening out part? As far as I know, there is no speeding up of any consequence. All is always speeding up and expanding in concert with all that is contracting, in an endless Moebius cycle. Maybe there are certain fluctuations, as in any natural organism that inhales/exhales, such as the sun spot cycle. The expansion of the universe is only a relativity issue due to all the atoms that are doing their natural thing: expanding.

Are DNA double helix MOEBIUS strips ? Can they become MOEBIUS strips ?

I m strugling to understand things that are clearly not into my field. Answer: Although bacterial DNA is indeed circular and twisty, the main difference between it and a Moebius strip is that in order for the bacteria to reproduce, it has to be able to separate the two strands and give the two strands to its two "children". Consider a zipper as an analogy. Take a long zipper, remove the "pull", and sew the ends together to make a circle. If you sewed it together without any twists (bacteria have an enzyme that de-twists the DNA during replication), when you pull the sections apart you will get two "half zippers". This is what the bacteria does. After it gets two "half DNA's" it has enzymes that use each of the halves as a template to synthesyze the other half. With your zippers, it would be like taking the half zipper and then fitting loose teeth into it - you would end up with two whole zippers where there was originally only one. Now if you sewed your original zipper together with a half-twist, like in a Moebius strip, when you separated it apart you wouldn't get two half-zippers - instead you would get a single half-zipper that was twice as long as the original zipper. This is no good to the bacteria. It wants to give each of its children a copy of its DNA. If its genetic material was like a Moebius strip, one of its children would get a double dose of DNA, and the other would get nothing, and die. The similarities the article tries to draw between Moebius supercoiling and human consciousness are just plain loony. It's an absolutely meaningless comparison. Anybody who uses the terms "isomorphism" and "limnocentrically" in the same sentence is not to be trusted.

MOEBIUS ... If anybodys familiar with his work?

Ive looked at a lot of scans online and had his Harzak features in the original Heavy Metal . Being an artist, I cant figure what hes using, straight watercolors or something like Dr. Martins Dyes and Higgins Inks, both fugitive colors. Ive used all that stuff and then some. Watercolors are permanent, but dont respond the same. Specially where a clean black line is essential. In some places I think he uses goache! If anybody who does artwork knows a website that goes into this or has read anything about this, Id appreciate your input. Thank you.
Answer: I want to thank you for this question. I looked the artist up and it made my day, week, month and year. Wow, this guy is great. I looked at all the images at this site: http://lambiek.net/artists/g/giraud.htm As for his medium. I had a friend named Peter Bramley (a fine comic artist), and he had this same combination of bright, clear colors and sharp fine penwork. He got a similar feel with Dr. Martin's Dyes. But in some of the images I see what you mean by guache. I really wouldn't be surprised if he works in many mediums. There's one picture, second from the last, that's a beautiful future cityscape. It reminds me of Windsor McKay. I think you again for bringing this artist to my attention.

Answer: I think the minimum length is (√2 + 1)cm, although I won't swear to it. I get that length by folding a paper of this size along its long diagonal. The folded paper gives me two 45-45-90 triangles and an isosceles triangle with legs = √2. Less than that, and I don't think the Moebius strip is feasible. Even at that length, it is too short to effectively demonstrate the cool things you can do with a Moebius strip.

Answer: Do you know how much work -- and in how many styles -- that man has DONE? When I was a boy, as Gir, he was doing the Western Series Lt. Blueberry which -- a few years before Sergio Leone's seminal films, put a Jean-Paul Belmondo lookalike into a world which was very much like Leone's Wild West, but far more colorful and with a more diverse (yet convincing) background. then he moved on to Arzach and the Airtight Garage -- which is a brilliant yet typical riff on Michael Moorcock's series of the sort Mr. Moorcock invited other creator's to do. AND he worked on the movie adaptation of Stefan Wul's novel The Masters of Time. Just to start with. The Wikipedia alone lists twelve compilations of his work and I have no doubt they are NOT comprehensive. I see no sign of that seminal Blueberry work in it. And the Blueberry items are each 64 page albums. Of the original series there are 29 volumes. You don't compile Mobius. He is too protean. You CAN interpret him, but you don't compile him.

Answer: To make a Moebius strip, take a long, thin rectangle strip of paper. If you make a simple loop, it will have two sides - inside and outside. If you twist one end and glue the ends together, you have a Moebius strip. Take a pen and draw a line down the middle. You will find you end up where you started - that is why there is only one side. Since you can make the twist in two ways, twist right or twist left, that is where right- and left-handedness comes from.
