There is no question of it being a masterful film. Despite its historic innacuracy, it is both an action-packed and emotional ride that both men and women can enjoy.

How did the TITANIC electrical system manage to operate as long as it did while the Ship was sadly sinking?
RMS Titanic sank exactly at 02:20 but the on-board electrical system & lights eventually failed at 02:18, which had burned brightly throughout the whole time, flickered once and then went out permanently, two minutes before the actual Titanic sank!
Answer: The electrical system of a steamship of the period was usually powered not by the main engines, but by a smaller, auxiliary power plant, also steam-driven. This allowed power to be maintained even when the ship was docked for a long period, and the main boilers were cold.
Accordingly, the stopping of the main (propulsion) engines after the accident would not affect the electricity; that would continue to be generated until either:
...the ship tilted far enough for some essential heavy component to shift or topple and disrupt the supply,
...the fire in the auxiliary boiler burnt out and the steam pressure fell, stopping the dynamos, or
...rising water swamped the system and short-circuited it.
I do not know which of these finally put out the lights in the 'Titanic.'

What does the TITANIC have to do with Roman and Greek Mythology?
I have a project due and I have no idea what what Titanic has to do with with Roman and Greek Mythology. I need a detailed explanation please. Thank you.
Answer: Titans were the first gods in Green and Roman Mythology. The leader(Kronos) like the ship was thought to be invinsable untill Zeus killed him and freed his siblings from Kronos stomach. The ship not only took its name from these Mythic creatures, but was also thought to be unsinkable, and was just as shocking to man as was the defeat of Kronos in legand, when it hit the iceberg and sunk.

What were the differences between The TITANIC and her sister ships The Olympic and the Britanic?
Which was biggest? How many cabins? Passenger capacity? Which was built first? Where were the sister ships built? Were the sister ships as luxurious as the Titanic? Thanks :)
Sorry I spelt Britannic wrong.
Answer: The Britannic was the largest and the Olympic the smallest. (until she was refit in 1918 when she became the largest). But all three were within 3" of each other in length.
They all had similar, if somewhat different accommodations. The Britannic had better 3rd class accommodations than the other two.
Olympic was launched on October 20, 1910, the Titanic was launched on May 31, 1911 and the Britannic was launched on 26 February 1914.
The carried about 3550 passengers and crew in 3 class. There were 416 first class cabins, 162 Second class cabins and 262 third class cabins. They had a crew of about 885.

How did an intoxicated person on the TITANIC survive hypothermia?
I heard that there was a chef on the Titanic who drank lots of alcohol the night that the ship sank. He was one of the last people to remain on the ship and was rescued from the water after the ship when down. When so many people died how did he survive? I heard that alcohol takes the blood away from vital organs and when you get hypothermia that is why you get frost bite as the blood travels to the heart and away from the fingers and toes.
Answer: Being Intoxicated actually speeds up the process of hypothermia. To this day it is still unknown how the chef survived for so long in the freezing water, especially because he was intoxicated.

Were the second class passengers on the TITANIC like middle class people?
Im writing this story about the Titanic. This one character is on the second class. I dont want him to be rich and I dont want him to be poor. Was the second class for rich people or middle class people?
Answer: There were middle class passengers on board for sure. But not a lot. What reason would they have to spend so much money on? The rich could afford to spend the money. The poor (usually) sold everything they had to get a bunk in the hold. Because they set up a new life in America.
Your problem is to find a reason for your middle class to travel to America. And back, because middle class passengers were not going to immigrate.

TITANIC???
I just watched the Titanic and it is Lovely but I gotta know is there truly a Titanic two and are the people jack n rose rea people who were could love like that exist or not.....
Answer: Dear,
Titanic:
The "Film" on "Titanic ll" is a film. There was only "one" Titanic. The film was on "Titanic ll" based on the incident happened to the real Liner by the name of the "Titanic", The British Transatlantic Liner.
Both jack 'n' rose never exist. It's only creation for the film.
By the way, I like the THEME of the film and the Song, "My life will go on" Sung by 'C. Dion'. I love the song. I used to sing it with the CD.
The last living passenger survival in the incident of the Titanic in Apr. 14, 1912 a women living in England passed away at the aged of 91 years last month (November), 2007.
Here is the 'real situation' about the Titanic:
British transatlantic Liner, sunk in one history's greatest marine disasters. When she sailed on her maiden voyage in 1912, the 46,329-ton [Titanic] was the largest ship afloat. A beautiful vessel whose first-class accommodations were fitted out with unusual luxury and comfort, the [Titanic] also supposedly represented the last word in safety devices.
She sailed from Southampton on Apr. 10, 1912., with 1,310 passengers and 898 officers and crew. The passenger list on the maiden voyage ranged from hundreds of immigrants in steerage to many socially prominent figures.
Despite fog and wireless warnings of icebergs, the [Titanic] drove ahead at full speed. Suddenly, near mid-night on Apr. 14, she crashed into the underwater projection of an iceberg. Her watertight compartments should have kept her afloat indefinitely, but the freak accident had ripped the bottom out of several of them, and she sank in 2 and 1/2 hours. The sea was calm. There would have been time to take everyone off, but there were only enough lifeboats for a third of those on board. Another steamer was close at hand, but her wireless operator had turned in for the night. The doomed hundreds faced death bravely. Lifeboat space went to women and children first, though those in steerage did not have equal opportunity. Altogether, 1,503 live were lost. The disaster shocked the maritime nations into new provisions for safety at sea.

How do I contact Millvina Dean (TITANIC Survivor) or any families of TITANIC Survivors?
I have been mesmerized with the Titanic for as long as I can remember. I would love nothing more than to speak with the last remaining survivor of the Titanic. Time is of the essence, I know, and I do not know of a way to contact Millvina. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.
Also, if anyone knows of anyway to contact any families of the survivors I would greatly appreciate it as you cannot find much information on the internet regarding contact information.
Answer: You usually find that people such as Titanic survivors are well protected from questioning from media etc by private solicitors and lawyers. But you can usually contact them or at least correspond with them through organisations maybe as the Titantic survivors etc which the survivors belong to or at least write to and attend annual commemorations.
And those that are alive today were only children - less than 2 or 3 years old when the tragedy happened. For example, Lillian Gertrude Asplund was 5 1/2 years old, Eliza Gladys Milvina Dean was 10 weeks old, Winnifred Vera Quick VanTongerloo was 8 years old, Barbara J. West was 3 1/2 years old.
What they do remember of the event has already been well and truly documented by historians and is available to read. Disturbing these survivors, almost 100 years after the event, would be pointless. I doubt their memories of the event are as good as what they are.
Good luck anyway.
Actually there are only 2 survivors left now. A report from May 2007 said that Millvina Dean was in hospital. She is the only remaining survivor

What was the difference between the TITANIC lifeboat and the collapsible life boat?
I know there were 20 boats on board the RMS Titanic and 4 were collapsible boats. Does any one know the difference between the life boat and the collapsible boat apart from the obvious that these did not need to be lowered into the water. Or have I answered my own question!!?
Answer: The collapsible boats had wooden bottoms and collapsible sides. They were smaller than the lifeboats they could only hold 40 when the lifeboat could hold 65. And the did need to be lowered into the water, they were meant to be hooked to the davits and lowered. But they didn't have enough time to do this when Titanic sunk and they washed off deck!
